Justė Janulytė in Reggio Emilia with the premiere!
With the aim of offering an opportunity for professional growth, training, knowledge and comparison, Fondazione I Teatri realizes the project Casa del Quartetto.
The aim is to cultivate new talents and promote a structured growth path, also in view of the XII edition of the International Competition for String Quartet Premio Paolo Borciani 2020.
The object of the study will be two new compositions by Lorenzo Troiani and Justė Janulytė - for four amplified quartets. Justė Janulytė will premiere her new composition Circle for a Square.
Justė Janulytė, composer, awarded a National Arts and Culture Award – lives between Vilnius and Milan, studied at the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy, at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and attended numerous master classes. She has collaborated with important orchestras, ensembles and soloists like: the La Fenice Orchestra, the Goteborg Opera Symphony Orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the Polish National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Brno Philharmonic, the Orchestra de Flûtes français, the Riga Sinfonietta, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and more. Her music was performed in Europe, America and Australia.
Most of her works are written for monochromatic ensembles (only strings, wind instruments or voices only) explore the space-temporal musical perception through large vocal and instrumental warps that stratify on several levels, with gradual metamorphosis. Moving between minimalism, spectralism and drone music, Justė Janulytė composes acoustic metaphors of optical ideas.
