On 19 July, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis met with the Foreign Minister of Oman Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi. During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Lithuania and Oman discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperation, global consequences of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, developments in the Middle East region and the European Union’s focus on a strategic partnership with the Gulf region. The Foreign Minister also highlighted Oman’s mediatory efforts to promote regional security and stability, and welcomed the friendly relationship between Lithuania and Oman.
On 15 July, the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Mantas Adomėnas participated remotely in the high-level international donor conference “Moldova Support Platform”, which was held in Bucharest, Romania. The Honorary Consul of Lithuania in South Africa Ivor Geoffrey Feinberg passed away on 4 June 2022, in Johannesburg. He has served as the Honorary Consul of Lithuania since 22 July 2005, for nearly seventeen years.
