    Lithuania’s Ambassador Jankauskaitė presented her letters of credence to the President of Botswana

    On February 13, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania, Rasa Jankauskaitė, presented her letters of credence to the President of Botswana, Dr Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi.

    During the ceremony, Ambassador Jankauskaitė was glad that Lithuania and Botswana celebrated the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year. “We will continue to open up opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Botswana. Lithuania is ready to share its experience in diversifying the economy and supporting Botswana’s efforts in this area,” Jankauskaitė said. She also thanked Botswana for its position on Russia’s war against Ukraine.

    During her visit to Botswana, Jankauskaitė met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Botswana, Dr Lemogang Kwape. During the meeting, Botswana’s Foreign Minister invited the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis to visit Botswana.
     
    Lithuania and Botswana established their bilateral diplomatic relations on February 17, 2004.
