A Conductor with a Brush. Children’s Book Illustration by Kęstutis Kasparavičius

A retrospective exhibition of work by Kęstutis Kasparavičius, Lithuania’s most remarkable children’s book artist, presenting his body of work from over 30 years, will be shown at Biblioteca d'Arte e di Storia di San Giorgio in Poggiale.

With his recognisably bright and precise style of watercolour illustration, Kasparavičius has created over 55 books for publishers in Lithuania and abroad, including 15 that he wrote himself. His books have been translated into 26 languages.

Kęstutis Kasparavičius, a beloved creator of children’s books in Lithuania, is also known and valued globally, particularly at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, where he was decorated with the honourable UNICEF Illustrator of the Year Diploma in 1994, granted the Award for Excellence in 2003, and selected no fewer than 13 times to participate in the Illustrators Exhibition. Indeed, what better place to present his work than the city of Bologna during the bustling book fair!

We invite you to meet Kęstutis Kasparavičius, a conductor with a brush, on 6 April!
